Bundled

I’m not good in cold weather. In fact, I’m going to share with you a short story:

When I applied to colleges, I applied to less than 5. I actually think I only applied to four. Three of the four schools were in Southern California, one was right here in Tucson. Four years later, you can see which choice I made. The point of this story is, I actually didn’t apply to schools that I knew had cold weather. It was that important to me.

Anyway, about a week after I committed to The University of Arizona, it snowed in Tucson. First of all, I was shocked that the place I decided to go to school because they didn’t have cold weather, actually got snow. They got about a half inch of snow and it closed everything down. To those of you who live in very cold climates, that’s laughable, right? A half inch closed everything! That’s practically nothing! Well, Tucson doesn’t have snow equipment; it’s not worth the investment. And that right there, the fact that a place didn’t have to invest in city snow removal equipment, was how I knew Tucson was the right kind of place for me.

So back to the weather, (because apparently it’s all I can talk about) it’s been strange here in Tucson. I said in my last post that the weather is finicky, and I wasn’t kidding. It could be below freezing one morning and nearly sixty degrees the next. We’re going from chilly to hot practically overnight and my body is utterly confused.

My blog posts tend to imitate my life, so my outfits are about as weather confused as I am. Just last week I wore a crop top and now I’m bundled up in a chunky sweater and extra layers. It happens.

I’m hoping to bring in some floral patterns for spring (groundbreaking, am I right?) next week and start getting in some really cool spring shoots I have planned. Stay tuned folks, if this weather gets any weirder, you’re in for a bumpy ride.

Hi - my name is Kirsten! I am currently based in Chicago after a long cross-country move from Arizona. What will you find here? I love sharing all things sustainability and slow fashion, any of my day-to-day shenanigans, the latest new hobbies I picked up, and whatever concert or music festival I can find. Welcome and thanks for popping in to my little corner of the world wide web!

I am with you 100% on the cold weather. I live in a relatively mild climate and it has snowed so much here this winter. I haven’t been warm since October! You look super cute as always sunshine!

Love the layering- I’m all about layers this week. It’s been pretty cold here in SoCal as well, so I totally feel ya on the coldness! It’s crazy!

Would love for you to stop by and join this week’s Good HUES-Day linkup (coincidentally about layers too!) 🙂
