Derma E Charcoal Skincare

Disclaimer: This post was sponsored by Derma E, however all opinions are my own.

I love face masks. They are possibly the one luxury in life that I can afford right now and I love them. I love how smooth they make your skin feel after you take them off and I love that tingly feeling you get when you put one on. Over the years, I’ve come to use a few brands regularly and I rarely stray from what I know. However, when I was sent this charcoal mask and scrub from Derma E and read what it could do for my complexion, I was so excited to give it a try.

Now, I want to start off by explaining what my complexion is like. Like most people out there, I have “combination” skin. Let me explain. My cheeks get rather dry in the winter while my nose and forehead get oily. It’s a weird hand of cards I’ve been dealt, but I’ve somehow managed to get my skin to clear up and remain clear for the last few years. I move a lot, which also means I’m constantly adjusting to new climates and yes, it drastically changes your skin. I’ve seen random breakouts, patches of dry skin, and plenty of splotchy tones before. You name it, I’ve probably had some type of similar issue. This means that my skincare routine is constantly changing.

I’m also not very good with my skincare routine; it’s kinda more of like a when-I-remember routine. I usually dig through all my products and find something that matches my current problem and use it until the problem goes away and another one arises. No, I’m not that good of a beauty blogger.

I use my Clarisonic pretty regularly, however, you can’t use it with a scrub and scrubs are like the epitome of the exfoliation techniques. I live in a climate that gets pretty toasty in the summer, so a gunk and sweat removal scrub is sometimes a total necessity. I usually wash my face in the morning and scrub my face at night and this routine usually does the job pretty well.

I’ve incorporated this Derma E charcoal scrub into my nightly routine and I must say, my skin is noticeably softer and smoother. I use the mask at night, once a week, and the difference in my complexion after using the mask is stark. Even my boyfriend noticed the difference and we all know how observant boys are when it comes to this stuff. When I first put the mask on, there was definitely a tingly sensation, which I love. It makes me feel like the mask is actually working. After taking the mask off, my face instantly felt cool and refreshed, which feels great on my often-irritated skin.

Not only does this product feel amazing, but it’s even better because of what’s in it. Actually, I should say that it’s better because of what’s not in it. These products are 100% vegan and cruelty-free and don’t contain any parabens, sodium lauryl sulfates, petrolatum, mineral oil, artificial colors, gluten, soy or GMOs.

The scrub does not have any foaming in it, so if you’re looking for more of a wash, I probably wouldn’t recommend it. However, if you are looking to add an exfoliation element to your skincare routine, I would definitely give this one a go. All I can say is, my skin looks great and feels even better, so I will definitely be keeping this in my skincare regime.
