Before I go into this post, I just want to make an announcement: my eyebrows look great in this. Like, really really good. I actually had gone to formal the night before, so the makeup is a little leftover. Also a heads up, there are some goofy pictures in here, but bear with me (my boyfriend took them).
I’m here to tell you about this really cool new brand. One of the things I really like is the idea of sustainable fashion and I love that new brands are starting to fit into this mold. This company is Five12 Apparel and they make athletic clothing from coffee grounds! Five12 Apparel is based in Seattle, which is probably why their clothing is water resistant. (I have a jacket I can’t wait to show off, but I’m saving it for a rainy day. Get it? Sorry, I’m so bad at jokes.) Now, you may not think that I need a water resistant jacket in Arizona, but if you think that, you have clearly never seen monsoon season.
Their performance collections are all made with this thing they call S.cafe’ fabric. S.cafe’ yarn is a technical composite made from coffee grounds. Don’t ask me the specifics; this is all I know. But it sounds pretty cool, huh? They collect their grounds for making this special yarn from local coffee shops, which is even more sustainably awesome since the grounds don’t go to a landfill!
I haven’t tried out their rain jacket yet, but I am so excited to use it after the last one left me, well, a little less than dry. I will be getting a lot more use out of these two items so get ready to see them in lots of planned hiking and travel posts! I can’t wait to see what more this company comes out with.
P.S. don’t forget to linkup! I can’t wait to see what y’all have been up to! Sorry about missing last week, my diet and workout routine are falling a little behind with finals around the corner. Good luck to all you collegiate approaching finals too!
PS: As a little incentive to get this thing going, I will try my best to comment on every single post that is linked below!
