A Day in the Life of a Modern Woman on the Go [with HBOGo]

This is a sponsored post in partnership with HBO. All opinions are 100% mine.

This fall, it feels like I’ve constantly been on the move. Don’t get me wrong, life is absolutely great, but I’ve got so many things going on now. From driving to Mexico on the weekends to jetting off to Denver (I know, it’s not exactly jetsetting) and attending local events on the weekend, ya girl is booked solid.

I always talk about the importance of taking time for yourself in busy schedules, but if you want to see what a day in the life of a hustler is like, keep reading. I’ve been doing this for years.

6:00 AM – Workout + Coffee

Ok, maybe this doesn’t happen every single morning, but I’m trying my best. I actually don’t particularly like working out, so I usually bring my iPad with me to the gym to watch a show while I work out. Currently, I’m watching Vice Principals on HBO and boy, it’s a hoot. HBO GO gives you unlimited instant access to ALL of HBO – every episode of every HBO original series, which is perfect when I want to watch my show at the gym (or anywhere else I may end up). Watching the show while I’m working out is like two birds with one stone. Plus, I never feel like I’m wasting too much time sitting on my butt and watching instead.

After my workout, I either pickup a coffee from a local shop near campus or make my own at home. This is an integral part of my day. I would be lost without my morning cuppa joe. If I have a few spare minutes, I usually throw on Vice news or a silly show like Curb Your Enthusiasm to watch while I drink my coffee and start getting ready for my day.

Noon – Classes

All my classes got scheduled in the middle of the day this year. It’s not my favorite schedule but I’m learning to adjust. After my workout, I throw on a simple but cute outfit (I’m rocking the button downs and high waist denim this year) and go about my day. Sometimes, classes last longer than others, with Mondays and Tuesdays being my longest days. On Wednesday, I have some time off in the afternoon and on Thursdays and Fridays, I usually have the day off.

Off Days:

On these days off school, this time is reserved for homework, studying, blogging, and any other errands that need to get done. If they don’t happen on my off days, they don’t happen that week.

I like to work in batches, so when I leave the house to run errands, I usually finish them all in one trip. I like to take the most efficient route from one place to another so I spend the least amount of time driving back and forth. Sometimes, on those really long days, I pick up another coffee.

When I get back to the apartment, I put some music on and work on the blog. Usually, I write at least 3 blog posts in a day to ensure I have content for the next week. On exam weeks, the blog time is usually swaped for studying time.

7:00 PM – Dinner + News

When my boyfriend and I are both together for dinner, we throw on the news while we cook and then eat. Both of us are totally hooked on Vice News and that usually ends up being our nightly show during dinner. When there’s a new Last Week Tonight, we always go for that too!

8:00 PM – Homework

After dinner is extra homework time if I didn’t finish earlier. I like to finish a few days in advance, but sometimes that doesn’t happen and I end up working on it at night. Most of the time, I don’t spend more than an hour or two in the evenings doing homework. I usually get it done on those off days.

9:00 PM – An Episode of My Favorite Show or a New Movie

When the work finally feels like it’s done for the day, it’s time to relax with a movie and a glass (or bottle, I’m not judging) of wine. During this downtime, I like to put my phone away and just spend some time not thinking about anything. I always love the movie picks on HBO, since they have the biggest and latest movies before any other streaming service! My boyfriend and I just saw Nocturnal Animals on HBO and, while it’s a thriller, it kept us on our toes. Get Out and The Accountant are other new movies on HBO that we’ve both enjoyed!

So there ya’ have it! A day in the life of The Wandering Brunette! It’s busy and action-packed and involves a ton of scheduling ahead of time and some last-minute work more than I’d like to admit, but I love every minute of it.
