So, as many of you know, sororities are known for their theme parties. Our last one? Disney themed. Now, as a brown girl, I’m sick and tired of being Pocahontas and Jasmine. Been there, done that. I decided that, despite the fact that we have no physical resemblance whatsoever, I wanted to be Ariel, and Ariel I was. My costume included a cute green circle skirt and a purple shell bra I made myself. I was so proud of this costume, you have no idea.
So, for all of y’all out there that want to make your own seashell bra, I’ve decided to help you out.
I’m creating a step-by-step tutorial on how I made it. Obviously, you can tweak the design to fit your style/costume!
- 1 bra (in a light color such as white or nude if you plan on dying it like I did, I used an old nude push up. If it’s already the color you desire, great! No dying for you!)
- Clothing dye (darker colors do work better)
- E6000 Industrial Glue
- 2 large seashells
- 1 bag of smaller seashells
- Pearls (recommended)
- Glitter (optional)
- Rhinestones (optional)
- Fish netting (optional)
- Modge Podge (optional)
|After the full dye process|
But my costume did kick ass.
