KAABOO Del Mar Recap

I love weekend trips. As tiring as they are, each and every weekend trip I take is more fun than the last. I do need to get better at taking photos, since it’s such an afterthought for me. I often times get so wrapped up in enjoying the moment that I just forget to snap even a quick photo. I managed to get a few this weekend to share with you guys the recap of the weekend.

Tanner and I went to KAABOO Del Mar in Del Mar, San Diego to enjoy food, drinks, good music, and more. I wrote up a packing list for KAABOO a few months ago and finally got to go this weekend! KAABOO focuses on more than just the music too – they provide comedy entertainment, art, delicious food, and some great craft brews (and other drinks).

I forgot to snap a photo of my day 1 outfit (of course) but did manage to get this quick pic of my day 2 outfit. I think it was my favorite outfit of the two. It’s such a cute wrap design and I’m definitely obsessed with the subtle pattern. I wore it with some old Steve Madden sandals I picked up a few years ago for a little added height.

I didn’t get any photos from the comedy show we attended or a lot of the gallery art, but check out my photos of the stages, food, and art that decorated the fairgrounds!

The Food

So the first food of the day was my first Sushi Burrito. Totally 100% worth it. Ever since this trend started, I knew I had to try it. I haven’t been able to catch one of the food trucks when I’ve gone back to California but finally got to try one here. It was basically a really big sushi roll, but I was about it.

The second thing we tried was the Drunken Pad Thai with Chicken. Of all the things we had this weekend, I think this was my favorite. The chicken was surprisingly good and I’m super picky about my chicken! It also had an added kick which I loved.

The last things we had that day included chicken tenders (not super exciting) and the next day we tried these things mega egg roles with macaroni and cheese, pork, and bacon inside!

The Art

I wish I could’ve gotten more photos of all the amazing art that was literally being painted as we stood by and watched. They had a whole gallery as well, but these were easier to snap photos of.

The Music

There were four stages at this festival and it was hard to pick which one I wanted to be at. We ended up alternating between the two below since that’s where most of the main acts performed.

I was able to see Ice Cube, Jane’s Addiction, Muse, Milky Chance, and T-Pain! (Although Milky Chance was definitely my favorite!)

Can’t wait to go again next year!

Hi - my name is Kirsten! I am currently based in Chicago after a long cross-country move from Arizona. What will you find here? I love sharing all things sustainability and slow fashion, any of my day-to-day shenanigans, the latest new hobbies I picked up, and whatever concert or music festival I can find. Welcome and thanks for popping in to my little corner of the world wide web!
