KAABOO: Lineup + What to Pack

Let me start by saying that I’m not a frequent festival-goer. In fact, I think I’ve gone to one in my entire life. However, when I heard about KAABOO Del Mar, I couldn’t have been more excited. This “festival” isn’t like your typical music festival – KAABOO is a multi-dimensional, indulgent experience for all five senses, and I’m here to officially announce the KAABOO 2017 Lineup!

What does that mean exactly?

It means art exhibits, gourmet cuisine, comedians, and a full music lineup all in one place: beautiful San Diego. I am so excited to attend this September and if this sounds like something you would enjoy, you can join me!

They just announced the music lineup and I must say, I’m pretty excited for a lot of these artists including Alanis Morissette and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. I’m also really excited for the food, but you know me; I’m a total foodie.

So, as a travel blogger, what would I recommend packing for this 3-day sensory experience?

What to Wear

Rompers. What is better than an all-in-one outfit? I will say, I used to be against rompers; I thought they were a bit childish. But truthfully, I am so glad I hopped on the trend. I now own several rompers, all with different patterns and textures and I love how easy they are to wear and how I don’t have to worry about them blowing up when it gets windy. That is a major point in their favor.

Maxi dresses. Maxi dresses make me feel like a princess, I won’t lie. I hopped on this trend before I became confident enough to rock them and now, I wear them all the time. I own them in tribal prints, tie dye prints, solid colors… you name it, I have it. Ok, I really only own about four, but I love them all.

Kimonos. Seriously, so cute. The button front kimonos are my favorite since you can wear them buttoned up as a dress or unbuttoned over shorts and a tee shirt for a completely different look. Versatile, just the way I like it.

What to Pack

Sunscreen. When you’re not laying in the sun all day, this is an easy one to forget. But just because you’re not at the beach doesn’t mean you can forego the sunscreen, especially if you’ll be outside for three days straight.

Portable Charger. You certainly wouldn’t want your phone to die halfway through the day, which might happen if you’re busy taking photos of all the beautiful things around you. Bring a charged-up portable charger and keep it in your purse for those “ah-I-only-have-five-percent-battery-left” moments.

Water Bottle. If you don’t want to be stuck buying expensive plastic bottles all day, bring a refillable water bottle. It’s both environmentally and wallet friendly.

Swimsuit. This is a no-brainer when there’s a pool nearby that you can gain access to with a add-on pass available for purchase and there’s an ocean right nearby.

Point-and-Shoot or Disposable Camera. I love my DSLR, but it’s nice to have one of these when you don’t have a lot of space in your purse and your phone is dangerously low on storage space. (Yes, I do know my storage is almost full Apple, please stop reminding me to delete photos I may need one day.)

Chapstick. It’s going to be hot and you might not be getting quite enough water (remember to stay hydrated folks), so don’t forget a lip moisturizer (I prefer Aquafor, actually) when those lips start to feel chapped.

So what do you guys think? I’m pretty excited to go this year and I’ve never gone before! Will I be seeing you there?
