Off Shoulder

I am absolutely loving the off-shoulder trend and admittedly, I’ve been admiring it for a while. I tried out the trend once just a few weeks ago and liked it enough to give it another go. Truthfully, I didn’t think I could pull it off with my larger frame and broader shoulders, but I’m glad I gave it a go. I now proudly own three off shoulder shirts just in time for summer.

So good news and bad news: I didn’t get the internship I was pining for, despite the fact that I think I was overly qualified but I am now pursuing a marketing and fashion internship right here in Tucson! One door closes and another door opens. I guess I’m sharing this with you all because I want you to know that my life isn’t perfect, despite how I make it look on the interwebs. A lot of people think I’ve had everything handed to me in life and, while I’ve been blessed with a lot in my life, I’ve worked hard for everything I’ve achieved. Anyway, I’m a bit bummed at the moment, but I can’t stay down for too long! I’ve already applied to three new internships, each that I can proudly say I’m qualified for thanks to this very blog.

I’m planning on doing a full ‘how to start a blog’ series where I’ll be talking about blog beginnings, the best things about blogging, and why you should start. I’m pretty excited and can’t wait to share more with you all!

Anyway, onto this quintessential summer outfit:

In this outfit, I combined two of the most popular trends lately: mules and off shoulder shirts. The mules are so comfy and only $28 from GG Boutique! I can already tell these will be a favorite of mine, especially with how much I’ve been wearing my other pairs of mules lately. The shirt is from Shop Tobi, and is the perfect off shoulder shirt to wear with denim skirts, skinny jeans, and colored shorts alike! I can already see it now with a wide variety of summer outfits. I’ll be taking this one out a lot this summer, that’s for sure. The shorts are from James Jeans and are possibly the comfiest pair of shorts in my closet right now. They’re a little longer (aka no ‘cheek peek’ in the back) and have just the right amount of stretch to accommodate large thighs and hips! Literally, just what I need! I’m actually debating getting them in white now to replace my old white summer shorts!

So clearly, I’m loving the off shoulder trend for summer. What trends are you loving?

Shorts: James Jeans
Shirt: Shop Tobi
Mules: GG Boutique
