So, I’m an accounting major. Everyone tells me that this sounds boring. It sounds like it’s just numbers, right? Accounting is so much more than numbers. Auditors have to make good relationships with their clients, work with other people within the firm, and have a general knowledge of how to maintain themselves in social situations. So, in addition to knowledge about numbers, the best accountants also have a high emotional intelligence.
I learned even more about this last week when I attended a Leadership Conference hosted by PwC. This is my second PwC event I’ve attended and I can truly say I was not disappointed. If anything, I think it made me even more excited about the company.
If you ever get the chance to attend a leadership conference, go for it. I can truly say that this was an amazing experience and I learned so much in the course of two and half days. I also walked away with friends I can look forward to interning and working with.
We went through a ton of team building exercises (turns out I’m pretty good at walking blindfolded!) and had a rodeo type event at the end!
Whatever you want to do, go for it with everything you have. I promise the outcome is worth it.
