  1. Brown the ground beef. Add salt and pepper as desired. OPTIONAL: add taco seasoning.
  2. If not already done, chop all vegetables and shred the cheese.
  3. FOR THE TACO SHELLS: Place a small amount of vegetable oil in a frying pan. The tortilla should be just covered by the oil when placed in the pan. Heat the oil on high and fry each individual tortilla, removing oil with paper towels.
  4. TO FRY: With a pair of tongs, place the tortilla in the oil and fully submerge it. Using the tongs, hold the tortilla folded in half like a taco shell. This will give it the shape you desire. Do this on both sides for about 30-45 seconds on each side or until the tortilla holds its shape.
