How To Recycle Your Fall Accessories This Summer

I am a huge fan of fall accessories. Just look at any of my previous outfit posts and it’s pretty clear. I practically wear fall colors, like maroon and olive, year round. Obviously, since I’m such a huge fan of fall, I’m always trying to make my fall wardrobe work all year too.

Getting some of the sweaters to work in the summer can be tough. I mean we’re in triple digit heat here in Tucson. But reworking the accessories is easy. Just let me show you.

Recycling fall accessories isn’t difficult. Usually fall and summer somewhat conincide, which makes things easy. Festival fashion is in full swing during these months, making it easy to transition from one season to the next.

Buy your accessories in easy-to-match colors like black or tan. All of the accessories I’m wearing here are black and matched perfectly with my romper. By buying solid matching colors, I avoided having to match a bunch of different colors and patterns.

Try matching your darker accessories with a lighter outfit. By matching dark accessories with a light outfit, you won’t have to worry about overpowering dark looks. The black accessories I wore with this outfit would have been a little much had my romper been a darker color but they worked perfectly with the light blue.

Classic shapes will work year round. Loafers? Classic. Felt hat? Almost a classic. Western belt? Maybe not a classic, but totally wearable. Two classic shapes like penny loafers and a felt wide brim hat can easily be transitioned from season to season. A western double buckle belt may be a bit less classic, but it sure can be worn year round. I’ve worn it plenty of times with dresses and high waist shorts alike.

So what about you? Do you have any accessories that you like to wear year round?
