Stripes and Denim

Every once in a while, I start writing a blog post with nothing to say. I guess I’ve had a rough couple of days but sometimes that means you just have to fix your hair and go on with your week. It’s been hard to keep up with blogging lately, especially with graduation right around the corner, but I think I found a good setup to work on the blog more this summer. I’m working 30 hours per week at a part time gig and spending the other ten hours a week on sponsored posts. This is my way of working toward being a full time blogger.

This look is pretty much my uniform, if you haven’t already noticed, but that’s because it always works. It’s easy to throw on a cute dress with a denim jacket and polished mules for an easy look. I’ve been a lot more conscious about how I dress lately. The last thing I want is to meet someone important when I’m out and about and try to tell them I’m a fashion blogger while I’m dressed in leggings and a tee shirt. Now, I love fashion, and I do wear all of the outfits I show on my blog. Even when I used to wear shorts and a tee on the regular, I still loved making up new outfits. But, it’s important for me to be authentic as a blogger instead of promoting outfits I would never wear. So, I do make sure to wear all these outfits out in public.

Sometimes, that does mean I wear my denim jacket and a dress more often than I probably should, but hey, it works every time.

Hi - my name is Kirsten! I am currently based in Chicago after a long cross-country move from Arizona. What will you find here? I love sharing all things sustainability and slow fashion, any of my day-to-day shenanigans, the latest new hobbies I picked up, and whatever concert or music festival I can find. Welcome and thanks for popping in to my little corner of the world wide web!
