Travel Makeup Essentials + Tips

Traveling as a girl can be difficult. Honestly, for me, packing for seven days isn’t much different than two days. I still need my hair products, my makeup, my body care products… I can’t even fit most of them into my carry-on! So, I only get the luxury of using my own products when I check a bag. Especially with summer vacation right around the corner – these are essentials when your travel. However, because I know how hard it can be to travel as a girl, I’m putting together my list of tips and tricks to travel in style.

Good Makeup Brushes

I just got this case of makeup brushes from Vanity Planet and they are the perfect for traveling. Each of the brushes is of good quality and they all fit in this little roll-up case that can easily fit in any travel bag. The case is really essential here to prevent all the brushes from rolling around.

This set of brushes has every brush that I could really need while traveling, probably plus some. If you’re in need of a good set of brushes, check out Vanity Planet – they’re great quality and you can get them on megasale right now. Use the following codes for some pretty good discounts on the site!

Spin for perfect skin: SpinSpring70 (70% off the spin brush)
Hair: SpringHair25 (25% off anything in our hair subheader)
Palette: MakeUpSpring70 (70% off the make up brushes)

A Versatile Eyeshadow Palette

Personally, I bring one of my NAKED palettes because you can make so many combinations with them. Lately, I’ve been bringing the NAKED Smoky Palette since I can create both subtle and nighttime looks.

Two-in-One Products

My foundation almost always has SPF in it, eliminating the need for face sunscreen. Generally, I bring tinted moisturizer, which is basically a really really light foundation that both blocks sun, gives me a little coverage, and still does all that moisturizing stuff. Since this eliminated the need for additional products, it frees up space in my makeup bag.

Samples

My mom and I always collect samples that come with makeup purchases for this one reason – they fit in travel makeup bags. The sample sizes are perfect for short trips and always make it through the TSA liquid requirements. Make sure to stock up on those little things like face wash, lotion, eye primer – pretty much anything you can get your hands on – and it is perfect to take on a trip with you!
