Now, I read a lot of these blog reviews before I finally decided to purchase my Triangl bikini. After stalking Triangl’s Instagram for over a year now, I finally bit the bullet when I moved to Sydney (it’s cheaper here). I was hesitant for so long because very few girls with my body type are featured on any of their social media pages. In addition, most of the social bloggers who were offered free bikinis had the same svelte figure. I define myself as “curvier” although not heavy. I am an average weight with an hourglass figure. I hold most of my weight in my butt and hips and have relatively large boobs, and anyone who has them too knows they need more support. I don’t define myself as large, but I am not thin. I have a flat stomach and could be a small or a medium in any given size. For bikinis, I usually by a L or XL top with S or M bottoms depending on the sizing (small in VS swimwear). Here’s a quick rundown of my sizes.
Bra size: 34D-DD
Jean size: 27-28, US 4-6, UK 8-10
I bought the Tilly Sunburst in a S++ for the top and M for the bottoms.
I was pretty excited when Triangl released their S+ and S++ top sizes. As anyone with a smaller underbust and large bust knows, it can be hard to find cups that fit with a band that isn’t too large. Plus, I really did not want to have them altered. Since I had my heart set on the Tilly Sunburst, this was perfect for me. The back is not adjustable so I needed a band that would fit.
Customer Service: Somewhat helpful. I did like their instant chat feature. They were pretty helpful with sizing although I would recommend talking to about 3 different people before settling on a size. They have a tendency to recommend one size too small. In regards to customs, they are not helpful at all. They tell you to talk to your local customs agency, which I have no experience with. I don’t expect them to know customs in every country, so this isn’t a huge fault. I was hoping to get a little more of a definitive answer just because Australia is the country they started in.
Shipping: Their shipping was unbelievably fast! They ship their orders from Hong Kong and I am currently based in Sydney. While they are somewhat closer on a relative scale, Australia (especially Sydney) is not close to anything. I expected shipping to take at least a week. I placed my order on a Friday afternoon and I got them Tuesday evening, just three days later! That’s practically one business day!
Packaging: I was a little miffed that my bikini was not shipped in a box. It arrived in a Fedex bag. However, nothing was damaged so I can’t be too upset.
Top: A little on the small side for claiming to fit a DD! I’m a large 34D (maybe DD) and there is a large chance of a nip slip with this top. It’s super cute and the straps are much more comfortable on my shoulders than a halter (big chested girls, you know what I’m talking about). It doesn’t move around when I move though, so it seems to stay in place pretty well. Definitely would not fit anyone with a larger chest than me.
Bottom: I trusted my gut with this one and went with a medium. I am so glad I did because I know I wouldn’t have been able to fit into a small. It’s extremely flattering on my booty and very comfortable. I think it’s my favorite part of the swimsuit. The color is to die for!
Overall Recommendation: It’s a nice swimsuit and it’s very comfortable. I don’t know how I feel about doing any sort of athletic activity in it, unless I want to pull a Janet-Jackson-At-The-Superbowl kind of move. However, I feel that way in most of my swimsuit so it’s not a deal breaker for me. Great colors and seems high quality so I may buy another one again.
It’s about 50° F here and about 10° C. That’s way to cold to do a bikini shoot! I will do my best to have pictures up in the next few weeks so you can have another frame of reference 🙂
