I love watching sunsets. Everyone loves watching sunsets. They are full of color and everyone thinks their hometown’s sunsets are the most beautiful in the world. Living on the west coast, I’ve seen my fair share of sunsets over the water in California and the colors that light up the sky in Arizona.
Here in Sydney, the sunset doesn’t happen over the water, the sunrise does. Sunrises are so completely underrated. There’s something beautiful about sunrises (other than just the vibrant colors that change as you watch with your own eye. Maybe it’s the start of a new day that’s really beautiful or maybe it’s the fact that fewer eyes get to appreciate the sunrise each morning.
I woke up at 4:00 am to see this sunrise at Manly Beach and it was 100% worth it. I got to take the first ferry of the day across the harbor to Manly Wharf and enjoyed a warm hot chocolate as I watched the sun come up over the water.
Not only did my day start out perfectly, but I was so productive. Granted, I was awake for 24 hours, so I had to be productive.
I watched the sunrise, went to the zoo, and then walked around Bondi. What a good day.
I’ll be posting pictures from the Bondi to Coogee Walk and then two different zoos I’ve been to in the next few days!
